International Dancing Machines Celebrates Five Years of Pan-Genre Cat Music

International Dancing Machines

Boston, Massachusetts Aug 16, 2026 (Issuewire.com) International Dancing Machines today announced the fifth entry in its cat-themed music sequence spanning genres including pop, drum and bass, techno and something resembling jazz. The newest project in the series – Shake Yass and Pay Cats – combines breakbeat and house music.

Colin Boroski, series creator and Director of Funk at International Dancing Machines, provided comment: The world doesnt need my music in it, but I love music too much to stop making it. International Dancing Machines gives me the outlet to put my music to work raising funds and awareness for a cat shelter thats making an important difference in its community.

All five entries in the music series feature cat-themed lyrics, samples and videos. They didnt have to. Boring, non-cat-themed music would have sufficed and surely skewed closer to audience tastes. Conventional music industry wisdom likewise favors stylistic continuity between projects and frowns upon madcap cross-genre freewheeling.

International Dancing Machines chose a different path the most absurd path possible, per its ethos. Five years, five projects and five-ish genres later, the results speak for themselves.

Special thanks to Cybersound and Q Division recording studios for their expertise and participation in this series. Warm thanks also to MC Reverend Gato for contributing excerpts from his sermon delivered Spring 2025 at a New England correctional facility (Gato Galactico). International Dancing Machines invites musicians and artists to inquire about collaborations. Project proposals do not have to be cat-oriented.
